Sigma Delta Pi (ΣΔΠ), the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society (La Socidad Nacional Honoraria Hispánica), was established in 1919 at the University of California, Berkeley. Founded in 1926, Stanford University’s Kappa Chapter is the tenth-oldest chapter nationally. The society encourages college students to acquire a greater interest and a deeper understanding of Hispanic language, cultures, art, and history.
