Hausa is a Chadic language spoken widely in Niger, Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Sudan, and Togo. There are a total of at least 250 million people who speak Hausa. As one of the Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTL), Hausa classes are offered by the Language Center when there is sufficient demand. Interested students should contact the coordinator of African and Middle Eastern Languages (AME).
